Tom is a creative entrepreneur with three decades of experience in film, television and digital media.
Tom has extensive management and leadership experience across different media environments, from large public sector organisations like the BBC to small, entrepreneurial start-ups.
Since 2006 Tom has raised £6m now invested in a range of film, tv and digital projects. NFM investments have created 71 companies and £75m of further investment into North East creative industries.
Tom is a Clore Leadership Fellow and graduate of Harvard Business School’s short course in Private Equity and Venture Capital. Tom has served on the Advisory Board for IPPR North, the Board of Culture North East and the management board of music accelerator Generator.
In the 2012 New Year Honours Tom was awarded an MBE for services to the creative industries. He is also a past BAFTA winner for interactive drama Online Caroline.
