Creative Director - School for Creative Startups
I don’t know if we can make spreadsheets and business plans fun, but I know we can make them tolerable and understandable.
It’s really about demystifying seemingly complex business systems and arming tomorrow’s creative entrepreneurs with everything they need to become a sustainable and successful business.
My role includes everything from building curricula with Doug to writing content for the website, selecting students, mentoring startups, meeting with Titans of Industry, securing sponsorship and much, much more. We are a small team, which means we all get stuck into everything which I love because no two days are the same.
How did you end up here?
I was very fortunate to have a mother who recognised the value in a good education and promptly shipped me off to boarding school when I was 14. Following 4 years there I headed to Boston University where I studied Sports Management and Public Relations and played ice hockey. After graduation I was able to work in sports marketing securing posts with several professional sports teams and then moved into public relations for a while, before deciding that my heart was in the arts and pursuing a career as a curator. It was this choice that brought me to London to do my masters degree at City University.
