The business will specialise in ethical knitted textiles for the home. The collection will initially be a range of contemporary cushions, which will expand to include throws and blankets. All designs will be knitted, either by machine, hand-knit, crochet or macramé. After a few years the business aims to expand into fashion, producing a range of knitwear garments. The company aims to partner with a number of different knitting cooperatives in developing countries, and possibly also within Britain, to ethically produce all products. Their craft skills will be combined with modern design, to create unique items that appeal to the Western market. By providing these knitters with work, enables them to sustainably increase their incomes and become fully contributing members of their communities. The business will focus on three sales strategies; selling direct to customers via own website, selling wholesale to online retailers and to brick-and-mortar retailers.
