Andrew Davis

Andrew Davis is one of the UK’s leading social media strategists, trainers and entrepreneurs. He started his career at digital radio station BBC Radio 1Xtra, before he was headhunted by Myspace.com to help launch its UK arm in Marketing and Content.

His extensive work in community development and digital marketing led to his inclusion in the Guardian newspaper’s 2007 ‘Minority Report’, a shortlist of the Top 30 most important ethnic minority contributors to the British media. Ranked as number 17, Andrew was the only entrant aged under 30. Andrew’s continued success for MySpace was again noticed the following year, when he became the only entrant to make it into the list for both Media Week’s ’30 under 30′ (a rundown of the industry’s younger and most talented media individuals in the UK) and Broadcast magazine’s ‘Hot Shots’ (a selection of media insiders tipped for future success).

By 2009, Andrew decided to branch out on his own and founded TheWorstKeptSecret.com, a blogging site dedicated to educating global brands and small businesses in utilizing social media to engage and interact with their target audiences.

Realizing that the use of social media could have a positive effect on literacy and numeracy, Andrew controversially created and launched ‘Social Media Fundamentals’, the UK’s first ever social media course for G.C.S.E. students. The groundbreaking and successful program was piloted in a London secondary school, gathering worldwide media attention and cementing Andrew’s reputation as a social media pioneer.

Andrew has since authored a free eBook aimed at music industry executives and aspiring musicians looking to break new music and cultivate fan bases in the digital environment. He continues to work in both the commercial and public sectors to devise innovative and effective social media strategies and training courses.
