Lucy Johnston

Lucy is founder of The Neon Birdcage (TNB) – a curation platform bringing together brands and cultural networks, with a focus on promoting talent and collaboration.

Her productions have included exhibitions for the Department for Culture Media Olympics & Sport; workshop material for the British Council’s young entrepreneurs programme; and bespoke publishing projects, exhibitions, panel events and talent network development for clients including Coca-Cola, London 2012, Courvoisier, WIRED, Levi’s and TED. TNB’s latest initiative is BrightYoungBrits – a nationwide movement for 2012, celebrating and nurturing young British creative and entrepreneurial talent.

Lucy previously spent eight years travelling the world, from Tokyo to Sao Paulo, as a trends analyst – tracking creative culture and brand strategy innovation for clients including LVMH, Apple, Nike, Sony, Nokia, Starwood Hotels, L’Oreal, P&G, Virgin Atlantic and LOCOG.

Lucy is a contributing editor and journalist across a range of disciplines from brand strategy to theatre; a fellow of the RSA; media ambassador for Courvoisier The Future 500; consultant to the Diana Award for young people; and sits on the UK Superbrands judging council. She is currently writing a book on British creative culture and society, and is developing a TV documentary series.
