Professor Rodney Kinsman RDI, graduated Central St Martins 1964, formed OMK Design Ltd www.omkdesign.com in 1965, an independent company designing and producing furniture internationally, currently celebrating its 47th year. Concurrent with OMK Design I opened and operated an art gallery, Kinsman and Morrison in Maddox Street from 1970 to 1975; opened and operated East One a fashionable restaurant in Clerkenwell, St John’s Street from 1990 to 2000; owner of a vineyard in south-west France since 2006.

“Through my experience as a visiting professor at Central St Martins and governor at the University of the Arts, I regularly encountered talented creative students who lacked business skills and were intimidated by the prospect of embarking upon an independent entrepreneurial career. I therefore strongly believe that the School for Creative Start Ups answers this problem providing post graduates with the necessary skills to go it alone which is especially relevant in this difficult economic period.”
