Sophie Cornish is co-founder and executive director of online marketplace, notonthehighstreet.com. The site provides a retail platform for 3000 small creative and entrepreneurial businesses, and checkout sales have grown on average 130% every year since its launch in 2006. Previously both a journalist and marketer, Sophie started her career as a beauty editor on women’s magazines, then in brand development and advertising. She has always embraced an entrepreneurial approach, having set up several of her own businesses as well as working on early internet start-ups. She is Stylist Magazine’s Business Ambassador, has won a number of industry awards and is regularly invited to speak at business events. Her bestselling book, Build A Business From Your Kitchen Table (Simon & Schuster) was written with co-founder Holly Tucker, published in July 2012 and has topped the Amazon and Sunday Times Business charts.
